nce upon a time, in a box in a fridge, there lived an egg.
One day, the egg decided that he would like to see something of the world, so he asked his friend the milk to lean on the door of the fridge so it opened and he gently rolled out onto the carpet and into the world.
He decided that it would be safest to roll along the skirting board of the kitchen, so he made his way carefully along the skirting board, marvelling at the interesting things around him. He passed a hole in the skirting board, but it was too small to fit in. On he went, until he came to a slightly larger hole. He rolled himself inside and found himself in a small dark space. Lying on a pile of scraps of paper, sniffing slightly, was a rat.
“Good afternoon!” said the egg, brightly.
“Hello,” said the rat,” rather miserably. “You’re an egg.”
“Yes,” said the egg.
